Open-prop 2S toothpick — a ductless FlyLens 85 for outdoor cruising, not indoor whoop flying

The Flybee 20 HD is the 2-inch, 85mm big brother of the Flybee 16: an open-prop 2S toothpick-style with genuine HDZero video. At 47.6g bare it is essentially a ductless FlyLens 85, trading indoor whoop safety for efficiency, speed, and longer flights.

The full story

The build pairs an HDZero Whoop Lite and RunCam Nano V3 (MIPI) camera with Flywoo's GOKU F405 HD 1-2S V2 (STM32F405, ICM42688P gyro) on a 2-inch carbon X-frame. ROBO 1003 14800KV motors — the same motors as the Flybee 16 — swing much larger Gemfan 2015 bi-blade props, which is where the extra efficiency comes from.

It is an open-prop pusher, not a whoop: exposed props favor efficiency, speed, and quiet at the cost of indoor and around-people safety, and the low-slung pusher props complicate takeoffs, landings, and turtle-mode recovery. Flywoo quotes 5:30 on a 2S 550mAh and 7:30 on a 750mAh — notably longer than the 1.6-inch sibling on the same packs.

The control link is a serial () 2.4GHz receiver that updates through the ExpressLRS Configurator, with a TBS Crossfire build also sold. It runs standard XT30 2S packs and ships with 550/750/1000mAh TPU mounts, spare props, hardware, and a screwdriver.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Genuine COFDM HDZero video (Whoop Lite + RunCam Nano V3) for HDZero-goggle pilots
  • 2-inch props on the same weight as the Flybee 16 give notably better efficiency and flight time
  • Serial (UART) ExpressLRS 2.4GHz receiver that updates via the ExpressLRS Configurator
Show all 5 pros
  • Runs standard XT30 2S packs and ships with TPU mounts for three pack sizes, spare props, and tools
  • Light for its class — essentially a ductless FlyLens 85 over 20g lighter

Cons

  • No ducts and fully exposed props make it a poor choice for indoor flying or flying near people
  • Low-slung pusher props sit close to the ground, complicating takeoffs, landings, and turtle-mode flips
  • 720p60 HDZero video trails DJI O4 in resolution; requires HDZero goggles
Show all 5 cons
  • 85mm with open 2-inch props needs more room than a true ducted whoop
  • Thin retail coverage — Flywoo direct is the main source, and the only GetFPV listing is a TBS (non-ELRS) build
